Summary: Step by step guide on how to configure your Avatar Roleplays and highlighting available features..
Configuration enables users to personalize 'Avatar Roleplays' aligned with their unique learning objectives—whether for personal development or professional advancement—through VirtualSpeech.
Users can browse diverse, skill-focused categories, each featuring multiple roleplay scenarios that expand regularly with continuous updates. To access Avatar Roleplay Configuration, simply select the option from the main menu as shown below:

If you're accessing VirtualSpeech Online, you can begin your Avatar Roleplay Scenario by logging in through the website.

Select a roleplay scenario by choosing a skill-based category from the left panel. Your selection will display all available scenarios in that category.

Note: XR Rooms only available in Virtual/Mixed-Reality
You can then select a scenario from within that category by choosing from the available options shown in the example below. These scenarios are continuously updated, with new options added regularly to each category as we develop VirtualSpeech Roleplays further.

When you select a scenario, the right panel displays a brief description that identifies the stance, conversation type, and whether single or multi-avatar conversations are available, as shown below:

Once you've explored the skill-based categories and reviewed the available roleplay scenarios, confirm your selection in one of two ways:
Select 'Quick Start' to begin your chosen scenario immediately with default or randomized settings
Select the 'Customize' cog icon to personalize and configure your scenario before starting

The app features a 'Quick Start' option that lets you jump straight into roleplay without configuring settings. This means you can begin your scenario immediately using intelligent defaults tailored to your chosen scenario. For more control and customization, select the 'Customize' option (cog icon) to refine your experience in detail.

After selecting a roleplay scenario, you can customize your experience through the settings configuration. This section provides a range of options—such as environment selection, avatar choice, suggested responses, countdown timers, and conversation language—allowing you to tailor every aspect to your preferences.

Settings are organized into four categories: General, Optional, Advanced, and Required. Use the filter menu at the top of the configuration panel to view one category at a time for easier navigation. To return to the full settings view, click the All button at the beginning of the filter menu.

General - This section contains the essential foundational settings for your roleplay experience. Here, you can choose your username, select your preferred language, choose your environment, and pick an avatar to personalize your setup.
Username - Your username is how the avatar will address you and will be automatically saved if you choose to preserve your roleplay session.
Language - Select the language for all avatar interactions. Avatars will communicate exclusively in your chosen language, and feedback will match accordingly. Note that some interface text will remain in English.
Scene Selection - Browse a diverse library of environments tailored to different roleplay scenarios. Certain scenes are exclusively available for specific storylines or contexts.
Avatar Selection - Select an avatar that complements your roleplay. All avatars support multiple languages and can adjust their accent to match your preferences.
Optional - This section offers additional features to enrich your roleplay experience:
Suggested Responses - Access a panel of helpful prompts and conversation suggestions to guide your responses when you need inspiration during roleplay.
Presentation Slides - View presentations from a curated sample library or retrieve custom presentations you've previously uploaded through your dashboard.
Live Features - Depending on your chosen scenario, this section may include additional interactive or real-time features.
Advanced - This section offers you more control over the functions of your roleplay and how your performance and feedback are evaluated, which include:
Timer - You can set a timer up to 30 minutes which will automatically wrap up your roleplay when the timer starts to run out to limit how long your roleplay will last. You can still manually end the roleplay before the timer ends.
Language Proficiency Level - Selecting a proficiency level will give you the options and flexbility for how you want your conversations to be analysed based on your personal level.
Input Type - You can choose whether you would like to choose 'Manual Mode' where you can choose when you want to submit your verbal response by selecting the button or you can select 'Realtime mode' where the submissions are automatic and the avatar will response appropriately when you have finished speaking.
Required Settings - Certain roleplays require specific input to tailor the scenario to your needs. These customizable settings may include:
Name - Personalize your roleplay by selecting a name for yourself. If you prefer not to choose one, a default name will be automatically assigned.
Company Type - Select a specific company type to customize your roleplay scenario and ensure it aligns with your learning objectives.
Job Proficiency Level - Choose your desired experience level, ranging from junior to senior positions, to match the complexity of your scenario.
Industry - Specify an industry (such as tech, pharmaceuticals, or others) to tailor your roleplay experience to your sector of interest.
CV Selection - Upload your own CV or resume to enhance personalization. Your avatar will reference your background and experience to create a more relevant and targeted roleplay scenario.
Custom Questions - Upload your own custom questions to personalize your audience to ask your uploaded questions during your speech presentation.
Reset to Default - Each roleplay has default settings available
The ‘Confirm Settings’ button will remain disabled until all required fields are completed. If anything is missing, a pop-up will inform you which settings still need to be configured.
Once you have fully configured your settings for your Avatar Roleplay and all required settings are selected, the 'Confirm your settings' button will be available to select as shown below:

A preview will then be shown of your selected Roleplay Configuration settings that you can check before confirming, if there is any settings you want to change, you can simply select the 'Return' button to go back and update your settings selection. To start your Roleplay, select the 'Confirm' button.

Randomization - You can randomize certain configuration options in the app, such as your environment or avatar, to add variety to your roleplay scenarios. We currently offer these randomization features, with more planned for future releases.
Locked Options - Some roleplay scenarios have specific restrictions that limit available environments or settings. Unavailable options appear greyed out or display a padlock icon to indicate they cannot be used in that scenario.
Roleplay-Specific Settings - Different roleplay scenarios offer unique configuration options tailored to their purpose. For example, interview scenarios may include settings like company type, job level, and industry, while debates or pitch presentations may restrict avatar or environment choices. Each scenario's available options depend on its specific requirements.
