Summary: This section will show you the general controls, mechanics, and features of the VirtualSpeech app to get you started on your learning journey in Virtual and Mixed-Reality.
One of the main focuses of the VirtualSpeech app is ease of access and usability for all. We keep user interactions and flow as simple as possible so you can jump straight into your learning journey. Most interactions within the app use a simple point-and-click method: point your controller laser at an object or button, then press the trigger to select or confirm your choice.

The focus of the VirtualSpeech app is ease of use and accessibility, so you can use the entire app with only one controller. All the button bindings are listed below as follows:

Select (Click) | Left Trigger / Right Trigger / X Button / A Button |
Settings Menu | Y Button / B Button / Options Button |
UI Scaling | Left Joystick / Right Joystick |
Scroll | Left Joystick / Right Joystick |
Grab | Left Grip / Right Grip |
Point | Controller Movement |
The pause menu is available at any time and can be accessed by pressing the B or Y button on either controller, or by pressing the 'Settings/Pause' button (typically located on the left controller).

Certain areas of the app have an interactive and movable interface, which can be achieved with these steps:
To grab the panel, point your laser or move your hand to the edge of the panel, causing it to highlight.
Press the 'inner grip' on your controller to pick up and move around the panel.
Once you have finished moving the panel, release the 'inner grip' to lock the panel in place.
